Sharing a Team Bot, manager logins, pinning in the Library and connector asks in Slack: the Grok Bot v0.78.1 changelog lines and SpaceXSI's docs, side by side.

I checked the Grok Bot changelog for v0.78.1, dated October 27, 2026. When I counted on November 3, 2026, 11 of its lines named Team Bot or Team Bots. I quote five lines, which cover sharing, manager logins, pinning and connector asks in Slack, plus team admins limiting sharing: "In Share, Who has access lists your team and organization, and a Team Bot can be limited to Only you." "Managers can add logins to a Team Bot's own Vault in Configure, under Tools, and the Bot signs in with them for the team." "Team Bot Library rows show a Pin button on hover, and a pinned row keeps its pin visible." "When a Team Bot routine needs one of your connectors, it asks in the routine's Slack thread and tags you." "When your team limits sharing, share controls say Only team admins can share Bots." The fifth of those lines doesn't name Team Bots. Each of the five is tagged Teams.
The docs use the term "shared Bot" on SpaceXSI's page at docs.x.ai/grok-bot/shared-bots, where docs.x.ai/grok-bot/team-bots redirects, and I didn't find the words Team Bot, Only you or Configure on it. The changelog and the docs don't match on three points: where a login goes, whether sharing makes a copy, and how to pin. I've laid each one out below. We haven't tested Team Bots, so everything here comes from a source I've named, and where a source is silent I've said so.
Step 1: Open the Share menu. The Shared Bots docs page has this line: "Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat and choose Share. In Share this Bot:" The changelog's line about Share has "Who has access lists your team and organization".
Step 2: Choose who has access. The docs have this line: "Under Who has access, choose your team to share the Bot with everyone on the team, or People you invite to share it only with the people and groups you add." The changelog's line about Share has "a Team Bot can be limited to Only you". I didn't find the words Only you on the docs page, and I haven't seen the Share menu myself, so I can't tell you which choices yours shows. In the docs, limiting it "asks you to confirm with Limit access".
Step 3: Add people or groups if you chose to invite them. The docs have this line: "Choose Add people or groups to add someone. Under Add as, pick Collaborator to let them chat with the Bot, or Manager to let them also change how it works: its instructions, skills, memory, and apps."
Step 4: If you're a Manager and want to add a login, look in Configure, under Tools. The changelog has this line: "Managers can add logins to a Team Bot's own Vault in Configure, under Tools, and the Bot signs in with them for the team." I didn't find Configure on the docs page. The docs' Vault page has this line: "Vault isn't supported on shared Bots; add keys to a shared Bot under Secrets instead." So read the manager logins section below before you add one. The Shared Bots docs page has this line: "Only add keys and files you're happy for everyone you share it with to use."
Step 5: Pinning in the Bot's Library has two different controls in the two sources, so look for either one: a Pin button when you hover over a row, or Pin in a three-dot menu. The changelog has this line: "Team Bot Library rows show a Pin button on hover, and a pinned row keeps its pin visible." In the docs, open the Library tab from the Bot's name, then "Click More actions (the three dots) on a row and choose Pin to keep the item at the top of the Library under Pinned."
Step 6: When a Team Bot routine needs one of your connectors, watch the routine's Slack thread. In the changelog, it "asks in the routine's Slack thread and tags you". For Slack in general, the docs have this line: "Each teammate needs to link their Slack account first. Open Settings > General > Shared Bots and choose Link."
Source: Grok Bot changelog, v0.78.1 (October 27, 2026). Every line below is word for word from the v0.78.1 entry, and I added nothing of my own. Each of them is tagged Teams. In the changelog's v0.78.1 entry, 11 lines name Team Bot or Team Bots (I counted them by reading the entry on November 3, 2026). I listed five lines, about sharing, logins, pinning, Slack asks and team admins limiting sharing. The fifth of those doesn't name Team Bots. This isn't the whole entry; the changelog link has all of it.
Beyond the Teams tag, I didn't find which plan you need, where Configure is, or what the Slack ask looks like in these lines. I've said so below instead of guessing.
The v0.78.1 line about sharing is "In Share, Who has access lists your team and organization, and a Team Bot can be limited to Only you." Another v0.78.1 line is "When your team limits sharing, share controls say Only team admins can share Bots."
Sharing for what the docs name a "shared Bot" is on Grok Bot docs, Shared Bots, as of November 3, 2026. Quotes are word for word.
Three things I couldn't settle:
The October 24, 2026 (v0.75.8) entry has "People not on a Team Bot's share list, including teammates, no longer have access to it until an owner shares it with them."
The v0.78.1 line is "Managers can add logins to a Team Bot's own Vault in Configure, under Tools, and the Bot signs in with them for the team." An earlier changelog entry, dated September 30, 2026, has "The creator of a published Team Bot can add teammates under Managers, who can then change its profile, skills, plugins, secrets, and Slack app." In the docs, a Manager can "change how it works: its instructions, skills, memory, and apps".
The changelog and the docs don't match on where a login goes. In the changelog, a Manager adds it to "a Team Bot's own Vault". The docs have this line: "Vault isn't supported on shared Bots; add keys to a shared Bot under Secrets instead." That line is on Grok Bot docs, Vault. I can't reconcile those, and I didn't find either source mentioning the other. Our page What is Grok Bot's Vault, and how does it work with 1Password? covers the same conflict.
Two docs lines cover the same risk: "Secrets on a shared Bot are used in every teammate's chat, so only add keys you're happy for everyone who can chat with the Bot to use." and "Only add keys and files you're happy for everyone you share it with to use." Both are about keys and files. In the changelog, the Bot signs in with a login "for the team", so I'd read the risk the same way, but that is my reading and not something a source states.
The v0.78.1 line is "Team Bot Library rows show a Pin button on hover, and a pinned row keeps its pin visible." The October 22, 2026 (v0.75.2) entry has "You can pin Library pages, files, and links to a Pinned section that stays at the top and syncs across your devices."
Pinning in any Bot's Library is on Grok Bot docs, Files and results, as of November 3, 2026. The lines are word for word: "Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat (View conversation details) and open the Library tab." and "Click More actions (the three dots) on a row and choose Pin to keep the item at the top of the Library under Pinned. Choose Unpin to take it off."
The changelog and the docs don't match on how to pin. A Pin button on hover for a Team Bot's rows is in the changelog, and a three-dot menu is in the docs. I couldn't find whether those are the same control. I also couldn't find whether a pin on a Team Bot is shared with the team or is only yours. In the v0.75.2 line, pins sync "across your devices", and I found nothing in it about teammates.
The v0.78.1 line is "When a Team Bot routine needs one of your connectors, it asks in the routine's Slack thread and tags you." Two earlier changelog lines are close to it. The October 23, 2026 (v0.75.5) entry has "When a Team Bot's routine replies in a Slack thread, the Bot follows the thread and answers later replies without an @mention." The October 14, 2026 (v0.71.2) entry has "When a Team Bot asks to use your connected account, the card explains the access covers only your own messages and others can't use it."
The Shared Bots docs page has two lines on this: "In Slack channels, threads, and group chats, a shared Bot uses only its owner's apps, and asks before it uses your accounts." and "A connected account always acts as the person the Bot is answering. One teammate's connection is never used for someone else."
In the changelog line, I didn't find what the ask looks like, what you can answer, or which connectors it covers. The v0.71.2 line mentions a card, and I haven't seen whether the Slack ask uses the same card.
Matt Palmer (@mattyp) posted two videos on X that cover Team Bots. We quote the text of Matt Palmer's posts. We also quote lines from our own notes and our own speech-to-text runs on the October 23, 2026 video, "Team Bots - Grok Bots for your whole team": the 0:36 line, the second run's output at about 0:36, and the phrases at about 3:18 and 3:28. Times are Eastern.
The three November 2 chapter titles share their subjects with the changelog lines above: logins, sharing and connector asks. We haven't checked what Matt Palmer says under each chapter, so we don't use the November 2 video as a source for how any step works. In our notes on the October 23 video, a machine transcript, the line at 0:36 reads, "All Team Bot is, is a GrokBot that's shared with your team." On November 3, 2026, I ran the video's audio through a second speech-to-text model, which gave "and all TeamBot is is a Grokbot that's shared with your team" at about 0:36, with different capitals and spacing. Both are machine transcripts, and nobody has listened to the video and checked them by ear.

Choose Publish to Team in a Bot's Share menu to make a team copy with its chat and memories, or Start fresh; your original Bot stays private.
The creator of a published Team Bot can add teammates under Managers, who can then change its profile, skills, plugins, secrets, and Slack app.
When a Team Bot asks to use your connected account, the card explains the access covers only your own messages and others can't use it.
You can pin Library pages, files, and links to a Pinned section that stays at the top and syncs across your devices.
When a Team Bot's routine replies in a Slack thread, the Bot follows the thread and answers later replies without an @mention.
People not on a Team Bot's share list, including teammates, no longer have access to it until an owner shares it with them.
Grok Bot docs: Shared Bots (docs.x.ai/grok-bot/team-bots redirects here): https://docs.x.ai/grok-bot/shared-bots
A Bot is either personal or shared. Share a Bot with your Cursor team the way you'd share a doc: with everyone on the team, or only with certain people and groups. Sharing doesn't make a copy, and each person's chat with a shared Bot is private.
Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat and choose Share. In Share this Bot:
Under Who has access, choose your team to share the Bot with everyone on the team, or People you invite to share it only with the people and groups you add. Limiting it asks you to confirm with Limit access. The owner and Managers can always use the Bot.
Choose Add people or groups to add someone. Under Add as, pick Collaborator to let them chat with the Bot, or Manager to let them also change how it works: its instructions, skills, memory, and apps.
To stop sharing, open Share again and remove access.
Plugins (the Bot's connected apps), Secrets, Skills, and Files hold what the Bot uses for everyone.
Only add keys and files you're happy for everyone you share it with to use.
In Slack channels, threads, and group chats, a shared Bot uses only its owner's apps, and asks before it uses your accounts.
A connected account always acts as the person the Bot is answering. One teammate's connection is never used for someone else.
Each teammate needs to link their Slack account first. Open Settings > General > Shared Bots and choose Link.
Shared Bots are for members of a Cursor team who have Grok Bot.
Grok Bot docs: Vault: https://docs.x.ai/grok-bot/vault
Vault isn't supported on shared Bots; add keys to a shared Bot under Secrets instead.
Secrets on a shared Bot are used in every teammate's chat, so only add keys you're happy for everyone who can chat with the Bot to use.
Grok Bot docs: Files and results (Library, Pin): https://docs.x.ai/grok-bot/files-and-results
Click the Bot's name at the top of the chat (View conversation details) and open the Library tab.
Click More actions (the three dots) on a row and choose Pin to keep the item at the top of the Library under Pinned. Choose Unpin to take it off.
