Current version: v1.0.
v1.0, Oct 15, 2026
Version 1.0 is the first full version of NFL Presser Digest. NFL Presser Digest reads the YouTube captions of NFL head coaches' press conferences and sends you a short team-by-team digest with real, word-for-word quotes. It runs on your Grok Bot's computer with no API keys, accounts or paid services, and it never posts or sends anything outside your chat.
Getting started
- The first message gives a quick intro and the help list, and it offers a daily morning digest at around 7 AM your time, with your choice of teams and whether to stay quiet on days with no press conferences.
- A daily digest is set up only after you say yes.
- Say "help" or "what can you do?" to get a short list of plain phrases: "Today's digest," "Just the Bears," "This week," "Yesterday," "Send it every morning at 7," "Change my teams," "Is there an update?" and "Who made you?"
- The first message and the help answer both explain that a few teams is a quick, light job, while all 32 teams use noticeably more of your Grok Bot plan, especially every morning, so picking a few teams is suggested.
- To read the captions, the bot opens YouTube in the browser on your Grok Bot's computer. It doesn't sign in, use your accounts or need any keys, and it doesn't touch anything else on that computer.
Digests
- "Today" means roughly the last 24 hours, "yesterday" and "this week" work too, and every digest says which time window it used.
- If the first search finds nothing usable for a team, such as only previews, player interviews or other teams, the bot looks back over the week and then keeps only press conferences inside your time window.
- The date shown is the day the coach spoke. When a video's title has no date, the bot works it out from the date the video went live or was posted and from what the coach says.
- When you ask for a digest, the bot tells you roughly how long it will take, and the digest arrives as one message. Scheduled digests also arrive as one message.
Accuracy
- A live stream counts as ready only when it has English captions. If it doesn't, the digest uses the team's later upload of the same press conference or says the team was skipped.
- Each transcript is checked against the video's full length, counting from when the coach starts talking rather than from a "starting soon" screen or music.
- The bot uses the fullest copy of each press conference. A shorter edited version is labeled "Excerpt (8 of 24 min)," and duplicate uploads are left out.
- Every quote is checked word for word against the captions, and obvious caption mistakes are marked.
- Every digest ends with a plain summary of which press conferences were skipped, partial, excerpts or duplicates, and which were complete, including ones that opened with a "starting soon" screen. The summary says "all complete" only when every press conference really was complete.
About and support
- Ask "Who made you?" and the bot tells you its version, that it was built by Eric Starr of SoundMinds (soundminds.ai), and that help and suggestions go to support@soundminds.ai.
- Ask "Is there an update?" or "What other bots are there?" and the bot checks soundminds.ai/templates. It reports only what that page shows and never guesses.
- The bot never shares passwords, keys or other secrets.
