Short answer

Import Memory is a new option in Grok Bot's Settings. It brings your preferences and context from another AI assistant into your primary Bot. The official changelog for v0.77.0, dated October 26, 2026, says, "Import Memory to Grok Bot, in Settings, brings your preferences and context from another AI assistant into your primary Bot." It labels the feature "Requires Grok Bot 0.75.2 or later".

That sentence is the only official coverage I found. I checked xAI's Grok Bot docs and Cursor's Grok Bot help pages on October 27, 2026, and none of them mentions Import Memory yet. So I don't have an official source for what the screen asks you to do, which assistants it works with, or what it does with what you bring in, and I've left those out rather than guess.

Steps

Step 1: Check that you have Grok Bot 0.75.2 or later, because the changelog says Import Memory has this requirement. Open the account menu, choose Support, then About, and read the Version line. Cursor's Grok Bot How Tos page says, "Open the account menu, choose Support, then About. The dialog shows Version," and xAI's Settings and notifications page says, "Support → About shows the installed Grok Bot version."

Step 2: Open Settings and look for Import Memory. The changelog says it's "in Settings," but it doesn't name the section, and I didn't find it on xAI's Settings and notifications page or in Cursor's Grok Bot help, so I can't point you to the exact spot.

Step 3: Follow what the screen shows you. I couldn't find official instructions for this part, so I can't tell you what it will ask for. Step 4 shows how to check what came through.

Step 4: Afterward, ask your primary Bot what it remembers. Cursor's What your Bot remembers page says, "Personal Bots don't have a screen that lists their memory. Ask your Bot in chat instead:" and gives this example to ask: "What do you remember about me?" The same page shows how to correct or remove a memory in chat too. That page is about memory in general and doesn't mention Import Memory, so I can't say whether what you import shows up in that answer.

If it still fails

If you can't find Import Memory in Settings, check your version first (Step 1). If it's 0.75.2 or later and the option still isn't there, I didn't find official guidance on why. Cursor's Grok Bot FAQs page says, "Contact support while signed in to your Cursor account," and asks you to include your Grok Bot version.

What I couldn't find

I couldn't find official answers to these, so this page doesn't answer them:

How memory works in Grok Bot today

Cursor's help page What your Bot remembers doesn't mention Import Memory. It describes how a Bot's memory works in general, so it's the closest official background I found. It doesn't say how Import Memory fits in. Here is what it says:

Cursor's Shared Bots page adds, "A shared Bot can't be your primary Bot."

Where this page comes from

Everything here comes from the official changelog and docs linked on this page. Nothing on it comes from hands-on use of Import Memory.
