The Grok Bot docs don't cover a Bot making phone calls. A third-party template, Call A Restaurant Reservation, says it calls restaurants to request a table.

The official Grok Bot docs don't cover a Bot making phone calls. We went through the Grok Bot docs and Cursor's Grok Bot help. The voice features they describe, which are voice chat, dictation, and voice memos, are between you and your own Bot, and none of them is your Bot phoning a business.
The restaurant Bot in the post Elon Musk quoted on X is a third-party template called Call A Restaurant Reservation. Brian Roemmele built it, shared it on X, and says it's free. Its page says it "Calls restaurants for you to request a table, in the voice you pick, then reports back with transcript proof and can add the booking to your calendar or give you an .ics file." A transcript only proves the booking if the restaurant repeats your name, date, time and party size back. If it doesn't, call the restaurant to confirm. The page also says, "This AI bot was created by a third-party user, not by SpaceXSI."
If you want to try the template, the docs describe how to add a shared Bot.
Step 1: Make sure you have Grok Bot. Cursor's help says it's "included on Premium, Super, and Ultra" on The X Subscription, and "Plus and Free don't include it."
Step 2: Install the Grok Bot app. The docs say people who open a shared Bot link "need the Grok Bot app to finish adding it."
Step 3: Open the template link: https://x.ai/bot/TIMrxLJHbEEpdr25yYgvL
Step 4: Choose Add to Grok Bot. The docs say adding a shared Bot "creates a copy on the recipient's account," and that it "accepts the third-party bot terms."
The template's maker writes in the post Elon Musk quoted, "Grok Bot needs its own phone number to make and receive calls," and says they connected a calling service for that. That calling service is the maker's own setup, not something the docs explain.
We haven't tested this template ourselves.
The docs don't say what other calls the template can make, so we won't guess. The maker's post lists ideas like booking a haircut or getting quotes from a plumber, but those are the maker's suggestions, not documented features.
If you try the template, reply to Eric on X at @EricSoundMinds and let him know how it went.
